Gravity and Momentum Utilization: Heather expertly uses gravity and momentum to propel herself forward at high speeds, reaching maximum dive speeds of 100 to 120 mph (160 to 193 km/h). She minimizes the use of scarce gas in her ODM gear by launching herself into the sky and executing precise dives on Titans, similar to a falcon striking its prey.
Silent Movement: Employing stealth techniques, Heather approaches Titans without drawing attention. Her swift and quiet maneuvers make her nearly undetectable until it's too late for the enemy, allowing for surprise attacks.
Decoy Techniques: Heather can create distractions using feigned attacks or sudden movements to draw a Titan's attention away from her allies, facilitating tactical maneuvers in battle and enabling her teammates to capitalize on openings.
Agility in Combat: Her small stature enhances her ability to dodge and evade Titan attacks, making her a difficult target to hit. She can provoke Titans into attacks and swiftly evade their strikes, often using their momentum against them.
Team Coordination: Heather excels at communicating with her teammates, leading Titans into traps or setups where they can capitalize on the Titans' distracted states. Her strategic thinking facilitates coordinated strikes that maximize their effectiveness.
Predatory Tactics: Drawing on the hunting styles of falcons and owls, she emphasizes speed and silence in her approach. Heather utilizes high-speed dives and precise strikes to take down her enemies effectively, embodying the essence of a predator in combat.
Enhanced Reflexes: Years of training and experience have honed her reflexes, allowing Heather to react quickly to changing situations in battle. This agility is crucial when dealing with the unpredictable movements of Titans, enabling her to stay one step ahead.
Momentum Regeneration: Heather has developed techniques to regain speed and momentum without relying on gas. By strategically utilizing the terrain- such as launching off walls, rooftops, or trees- she can maintain her velocity during aerial maneuvers. This allows her to chain movements effectively, seamlessly transitioning between attacks and evasive actions in combat zones.
Heather Greene was born as the younger twin to Angel Greene and Joseph Fleming, alongside her brother, Benjamin. From a young age, their lives took a tragic turn when their mother fell ill and eventually passed away. The loss of their mother left a deep void in their lives, but things would only worsen when their father, overwhelmed by grief and desperation, sold the twins into the children’s slave ring that was rampant in the black market of Paradis. Growing up in captivity was a harrowing experience. Heather and Benjamin were confined to a cage, often forced to witness the brutal fights in which other children were pitted against one another for the entertainment of their captors. Benjamin, always protective of his sister, was coerced into fighting under the threat of Heather being taken away and assaulted. This constant fear forged a bond between the twins that was both a source of strength and a reminder of their grim reality.
As the years passed, Heather was subjected to the horrors of their situation. In one desperate act of survival, she was forced to use the femur bone of a deceased child nearby as a weapon. With determination and fierce resolve, she managed to kill a captor who was checking on them and seize the keys to their cage. This pivotal moment marked the beginning of their fight for freedom. After successfully escaping, Heather and Benjamin fled into the dense forests to the north of Paradis, where they struggled to survive as wild beasts, shedding their domestication and embracing their primal instincts. Their newfound freedom, however, was short-lived. After being spotted by a nearby village, the Church of the Walls and the Garrison were alerted. A small group from the Garrison was deployed to capture the twins, employing nets and sedatives to subdue them. Once apprehended, they were taken to an orphanage run by the Church, where they were re-domesticated and educated. Here, Heather developed an interest in herbology and anatomy, while Benjamin aspired to lead a military group.
At the age of eleven, both twins passed the entrance exam to join the Survey Corps. Their time in the Corps was marked by growth and camaraderie, as they honed their skills and built a reputation among their peers. However, tragedy struck during an expedition when an Abnormal Titan swarm attacked their team. In a harrowing moment, Benjamin saved Heather from being devoured by an Abnormal Titan, but in the process, she lost her right arm. Heather blacked out from the pain, only regaining consciousness once she was out of danger. Following this traumatic event, Erwin Smith took command of the Survey Corps and offered Heather the position of Janitor. This role allowed her to remain part of the military without the pressure of being on the front lines, while also fostering a deep friendship between her and Erwin. He supported her through her grief and encouraged her to find purpose despite her loss.
Driven by a desire to reclaim her agency, Heather traveled to the Industrial City with blueprints for a prosthetic arm designed to be controlled by the nervous system. James Kilmner became her partner in this endeavor, and together they obsessively worked on creating a functional prosthetic. Heather volunteered to be a test subject, allowing them to refine the design through trial and error. Eventually, they developed a sophisticated prosthetic that allowed her fluid movement akin to that of a natural arm. Now, with the ambition to return to the Survey Corps as a full-fledged soldier, Heather is determined to prove her capabilities. Although Erwin is hesitant about allowing her back on the field due to concerns for her safety, he ultimately agrees, provided she demonstrates that she can handle the challenges ahead. Heather’s journey is marked by resilience, loss, and an unwavering commitment to not only survive but thrive in a world fraught with danger and uncertainty.
