Out of Character

00. Large portions of this code belong to Alycone, I will not claim this code as my own due to this, however, I did put a lot (5+ hours) of work into it; so if I see you with this code and you're not Alycone? We're going to have problems.

01. I have a job and the attention span of a hyperactive gerbil, attempts are made to make sure replies are given everywhere, just remain patient for both our sakes.

02. As you can probably tell with a glance at history, I write a lot. I do not consider one lining truly canon to my character, if that's a problem then refrain from trying to RP with me.

03. Leave your bullshit drama at the door, thank you.

04. RPing since March of 2008.

05. Smut with story, mindless and useless smut is nearly non-existent on my side.

06. Extremely light T1, still trying to find the use of it and still learning.

07. Typist is female and taken IRL.

08. If you believe me to be a bitch by this simple OOC, you're not only quick to judge but taking the tone of these words on your screen as aggressive; though I will admit I claim the title of Queen Bitch often.~

09. IC =/= OOC

History

Mayumi's birth was the unfortunate result between two unnamed individuals, the accident left the parents in a particularly bad situation, as they were enlisted into a Government Program that allowed no time to raise a child-- let alone if they even wanted one to begin with. As compensation for their sloppy work, no pun intended, Mayumi was given to the Program, known as either The Project or Guardian Angels. From the moment she was able, Mayumi was stripped of her name and trained in the Program; known only as Subject Five to those that participated, she quickly set the standard for the researchers through dedication and superb intelligence. Moving between the two branches the Program had smoothly, Subject Five ruthlessly completed her work between her education and her 'job' as a Seraphium, effectively setting herself at the top of the power totem.

At the age of five, Subject Five was paired with a psychologist by the name of Nakamatsu Taro, and she became what others called 'the favorite'; but this wasn't anything to brag about as the Doctor was known to suffer from DID and would regularly switch to his aggressive alter with her. While Subject Five was at a loss as to why this happened, she was quick to adapt before moving up as a Seraphium, the disconnect between herself and her emotions was perhaps the only thing that managed to retain her sanity throughout the entire ordeal. By ten she was diagnosed with Alexythemia, by twelve Doctor Nakamatsu suspected several other personality and mental disorders, such as low grade Autism. The more he dissected into Subject Five, figuritively and literally, the more guilt his main alter felt for what the aggressive alter was doing.

This only grew worse when a new doctor came onto the team, named Otaka Shiji, his ideas were a mixture of barbaric and absolutely genius; as his studies mainly focused in the unnatural things of the world-- the very things that Subject Five refuted entirely as they went against everything logical. The Supernatural. Doctor Otaka desired to create super soldiers for Japan, even if the cost was a few lives among the Subjects. It was only when the death toll became too much that Otaka was removed from the team, but this sadly came at a price of dying by the hands of the Subjects he desired to experiment on. Subject Five was sent out, yet his elusive nature made it easy for him to turn the tables on her instead for capture and experimentation. It was the only time that Subject Five could recall a sense of what she could only assume to be terror overcoming her, as his experiments lead to the death of three women that were locked inside the basement of some building she could not identify. However, by some stroke of luck, she survived. Several weeks afterwards was spent on making sure she was mentally stable enough to return to the field, once again leaving her in the hands of Doctor Nakamatasu.

So when she quietly mentioned desiring to leave at fourteen, Subject Five was surprised to see Doctor Nakamatsu encourage her. Even more surprising was that he not only allowed her escape during a mission, but he even went as far as to cover her tracks when she could not until he lost her himself. By fifteen, Subject Five-- better known simply as S or Five at this time, was trained not only in combat, but the inner workings of the very organization she was running from. She fleed to America, and from there learned the dark truth about The Project:

It was better known as The Project of Guardian Angels, a branch in every country that participated in World War Two opening not long after the demise of the Nazi Party. The mission behind the program was to give homes to those that had none or those who desired a lifetime long job, training them for the specific task of finding and erasing the existence of corrupt individuals in the world; hoping to remove any possibility of another world war. Ironically, this only heightened the possibility, as the world was not aware of the program's existence, yet completely aware of the disappearances of Religious and Political individuals of power. Along with this, those that were apart of the Axis-- while allowed their branches-- were not allowed to do anything more than defend themselves; yet both Japan and Germany specifically devolved into Human Experimentation.

The scariest and most unbelievable part was that it actually worked: Those that were experimented on did gain something for their suffering, unnatural power. It seemed random, but these 'metahumans' were indeed given capbilities well outside of human control, such as Blood Manipulation for the deadliest, or simply healing from a single touch. And while Subject Five dismissed these claims as nothing but delusions, she was also a successful experiment, gaining the ability to not just sense death- but for a few split seconds she can also see the reapers that come for the souls of the dead.

Sadly, due to the treaty breach, both German and Japanese branches were condemned to shut down entirely. As expected, Germany and Japan retaliated by moving underground with their Subjects and Experiments, and the order to kill any associated with these branches on sight was given. This sadly put Subject Five in a perculiar situation, as while she was not apart of the Japanese branch anymore, she was associated through Doctor Nakamatasu. Thus the young woman was left with no choice but to run whenever she could, what else could you do when you're stuck between a rock and a hard place?~

Personality

Positive:
determined. resourceful. creative. inventive. kind, protective, big-picture thinker, honest, hard-working, caring/nurturing, a natural leader

Mayumi is by default the hardest worker among her peers. She isn't one to be caught up on the smaller and unnecessary details, finding anyone who does a mere annoyance that refutes the big picture - the ending goal is the key to delivering Justice. This does not necessarily mean that she does not take the smaller specifics into consideration, as every piece matters, however. And while she does not believe so herself, Mayumi does have a natural affinity for caring and nurturing those she deems worthy enough; going so far as to teach her apprentice the ins and outs of justice for every country they visit. This, in turn, makes her a wonderful and natural leader.

Neutral:
Brainiac, competitive, solemn, strict, stubborn, irreverent, private

While her intelligence is her strongest quality, it does tend to make her stubborn in her decisions, any that dare to go against this brings out her competitive side fairly quickly. This could be seen as her viewing life as nothing more than a game to beat, but Mayumi's strict trait diminishes this theory, as her regimen does not fit those that would fall under this category. Adding on her inability to care about things that would otherwise be taken seriously, and it can easily be seen how she can be difficult.

Due to her 'hallucinations', Mayumi does suffer from depression, which tends to make her look more solemn than she originally intends. Because of this, Mayumi is intensely private about her life and pretty much everything about her. She does not use her real name, she does not divulge in her history, and she refuses to let anyone close enough to find out.

Negative:
Alexithymia - apathetic, abrasive, impatient, nihilistic, paranoid

What can originally be interpreted as apathy is in actuality a personality defect, Mayumi falls under the category of those suffering from Alexithymia - which only affects ten percent of the population. She isn't incapable of feeling, and in fact, does have the physical responses to stimuli as any other person might; the defect comes into play when she is asked to describe what she is feeling. Mayumi cannot express or describe her emotions, leaving her at a large disadvantage socially because she does not understand them.

Outside of this, she can come off as abrasive and impatient, incapable of recognizing that patience and emotional understanding would be better suited. Her nature tends to naturally rub her peers the wrong way, though it may not be her original intention. Along with this comes a strong paranoia, mostly stemming from her disabilities, but it does aide as fuel to keeping herself secluded from the rest of society. As the final trait, Mayumi is nihilistic, fully recognizing that she is just a small dot on a rock hurtling through space in a galaxy barely out of its diapers. In the end, she does not matter, as time would continue marching forward without her.
