Magic Genius

Sylas is both obsessed with an unprecedently talented in the field of magic, growing up he has cared for little else and was often forced into other studies for which he used magic to evade the difficulty or any attempt at teaching a lesson. There is no school of magic Sylas holds no interest in and while his destructive capabilities are impressive his utility spells are often just as ridiculous. He tends to use his own versions of basic elements when in combat as well, blue flames from purgatory, black ice that sucks the life of those frozen in it, and white lightning that challenges even the breath of dragons, most attribute this to him having grown bored with normal elemental magic.

Chaos Magician

While Sylas wields most elements naturally where his elemental talent truly lies is in chaos magic, the perfect fusion of light and dark elemental magic to create destructive wells of power that are then harnessed for wild magical abilities, some chaos spells even border on the realm of reality-warping, such as the powerful Demiurge's Playground that unfolds an entire twisted world around the caster. Sylas is so talented with chaos magic that he has earned the name Chaos Magician.

Boundless Mana

Sylas was born with nearly infinite mana capacity, normally thanks to all the magic he experiments with his reserves are kept to normal levels, however, they will build endlessly if not expended and this tends to attract other magic users with nefarious intentions, aiming to steal his mana to fuel themselves.

Forbidden Magic

Sylas collects grimoires filled with forbidden magic that breaks taboos, encroaching the realms of death, mental destruction, and demonic crafts. Sylas constantly searches for grimoires that detail breaking the ultimate taboo, god killing.

Necromancy

One of the most disdained forbidden magics, necromancy reaches into the realm of death to create twisted life. Sylas's experimentation with necromancy came from a spiteful argument with the goddess of light in which Sylas swore to create a being of necromancy that even she could not deny as alive, he still strives for this and regularly confronts the goddess with his new creations.

Faust's Book of the Damned

A book written by a man hounded by demons, it holds thousands of years of forbidden knowledge and after completing its contents Sylas turned it into his personal grimoire, opening it releases large amounts of stored mana into Sylas and allows him to look up complex spell formulas for easier casting. Eventually, the book grew in power, and familiars contracted to Sylas can now be summoned from it.

Curse of the Idol

All of his magical power did not come without a drawback, his feminine youthful appearance and relative physical weakness are the results of a powerful curse present since his birth, this curse makes him young and frail, but also seems to attract those with proclivities towards effeminate boys like him. The physical weakness isn't enough to impede his everyday life but it does mean that he is worthless in combat without magic, that said with magic he can easily supplement the weaknesses for melee combat.

Akashic Eyes

Extremely rare magic eyes allow Sylas to steal the magic eyes of others and add them to his own, by locking eyes with a defeated magician Sylas can steal the power of their magic eyes and use it in one of his own eyes, he, however, can only use the effects of one type of magic eye per eye and only stores one 'eye' per set. The Akashic eyes also allow for the analysis of magic spells cast on the owner as well as the memorization of spell circles required to cast such magic.

Talentless

Possibly an extension of the curse of the Idol or its own bane, Sylas is entirely inept when required to do simple tasks such as cooking or cleaning, he can command armies and craft unheard of spells but if stripped of magic could never do laundry. This, of course, is another reason why he keeps such a large number of maids around the manor, he has a limited grasp of business thus he relies on a secretary when he needs to offload the spoils of dungeons and battle or useful products of his research.

Astrologer's Cloak

Sylas's unique star-laden cloak draws in extra mana and assists in regeneration, for a normal person this would greatly increase their mana regeneration and capacity to superhuman levels, for Sylas however it is to mitigate risk, if his mana were ever fully depleted he would be rendered unconscious until it refilled completely because Sylas's mana pool is so vast this would leave him effectively comatose for months if not years, the Astrologer's Cloak allows him to restrict that to five months in the worst case scenario.
